BËTR

An alternative to in-house AV

You don’t have to use the house team.

In-house AV is convenient for the venue — marked up room by room, staffed by whoever’s on the rotation, and quick to upsell. BËTR is the outside production partner you bring instead: one senior team that learns your show, your own gear and software, and a price you can actually read. We coordinate with your venue so the switch is easy.

The part nobody puts on the quote

A chunk of “in-house” is a commission to the venue.

In-house AV usually pays the property a commission on your AV spend — and keeps its own margin on top. So you pay more, for less leverage, and part of your production budget quietly funds the building. An outside team like BËTR sells you production, not commission.

Whole event, or any part

Replace all of it, or just the painful part.

You don’t have to fire the house team to fix the problem. Bring BËTR in for the whole event, or just for presentation management, breakout rooms, or recordings — and let the venue cover the rest.

In-house AV alternative — FAQ

What’s the alternative to a venue’s in-house AV?
Hiring an outside production company — like BËTR — and bringing them in instead of (or alongside) the venue’s in-house AV team. You get one accountable crew that learns your show, your own gear and software, and usually a lower, clearer price than marked-up in-house rates.
Can I bring my own AV company to a hotel or convention center?
Almost always, yes. Most venues allow outside production; some add a small facility or power fee. We do this constantly — we coordinate directly with your venue on load-in, power, rigging, and house requirements, so bringing BËTR in is routine, not a fight.
Is an outside AV company really cheaper than in-house?
Frequently. In-house AV is priced per room and per tech with healthy markups and easy upselling. A single outside team covering your general session and all your breakouts on one system usually comes in lower — and you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Why does in-house AV feel so uneven?
Because the crew rotates. The tech who nailed your show last year may be in another ballroom this year. An outside partner sends the same A-team and keeps your show’s history, so quality doesn’t reset every event.
Do I have to replace in-house entirely?
No. Hire BËTR for the whole event, or just the part that matters most — presentation management, breakouts, or recordings — and let the venue cover the rest. Whole event, or any part.
